Holmen Kornfest

If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate the summer harvest, look no further than Holmen, Wisconsin's Kornfest. Enjoy the fruits of the season, barbecued. In addition to the tasty corn (or rather, korn…) there is also a car show, a fun run and a parade. A midnight carnival and a wealth of entertainers are also numbered among the attractions of Kornfest. Summer never tasted so good.

Applefest

La Crescent, MN is known for its apple industry and its fantastic annual Applefest. To kick off the harvest season in September, community organizations put on a shindig to celebrate the fruit everyone loves. Carnival rides for the kids, a parade and festival royalty are only some of the sights to behold.

In 2012, Applefest had some new attractions that included a Poker tournament and a trivia night. When you’ve had a 64-year run of fun and great memories, it’s important to keep things fresh and exciting. The creative brains behind Applefest know this, and are constantly coming up with new ideas. Who knows what exciting events they will dream up for next year?

Money raised at Applefest goes to various community programs including, but not limited to, repair and construction projects in schools, providing new equipment for firefighters, and much more.

Sparta Butterfest

The Sparta Butterfest takes place the 2nd weekend of June each year. Sparta, known for their State Award Winning Butter Makers who worked at the local milk plant, wanted to raise funds for the community and what better way than a festival. The Butterfest offers fun for the entire family with a carnival, parade, entertainment, food and so much more.

For more information be sure to visit the Sparta Butterfest website.

Catfish Days

The biggest festival of the year in Trempealeau, Wisconsin is its Catfish Days festival. You can enjoy the savory taste of catfish in sandwich form or fish for your own in the tournaments for both adults and kids. There’s also a Catfish Days Tour for bike riders and a Catfish Days Run for runners.

After a long day of fishing, you can browse the flea market, sit and enjoy the tractor pull and enjoy the ever-popular car show. When all is said and done, there’s a lot more than Catfish at Trempealeau’s Catfish Days.

La Crosse Interstate Fair

Formed in 1890 and held in West Salem, WI, the La Crosse Interstate Fair provides locals a look at what is new, interesting and important to the community and the agriculture industry that lives today. The fair offers free admission, free parking and fun for the entire family.

June Dairy Days

In the summer sometimes all you need is a tall, cold glass of milk…and some ice cream, or a great milk shake. Just anything with dairy basically, right? If this statement is true for you, you are exactly the kind of person who would love to attend the June Dairy Days Festival in West Salem.

Taking place on the first weekend of June, June Dairy Days is a community celebration that’s been presented since 1970. It’s a celebration full of food, fun, and friendship including a bike tour, a parade, and a fireworks display.

Volleyball, softball and track are just some of the sporting events spectators can enjoy at June Dairy Days. You can listen to music, get your face painted, and kids aged 4-6 can even go nuts in the Saw Dust Pile. At the festival kickoff, there’s an annual recipe competition in which the recipes must feature dairy prominently. Mmmm!

June Dairy Days is not only a favorite West Salem tradition, but a great way to get the family outside to start the summer off right.
